Director of Education, Ronit Strobel-Dahan
Leading Temple Har Zion’s Religious School, Ronit Strobel-Dahan works closely with our clergy and the Education Committee to create an engaging learning environment, where students will develop a sense of pride in their Jewish heritage and be inspired to embrace Reform Judaism – living a Jewish life in accordance with Jewish values and belonging to a warm, supportive, and inclusive community.
Ronit’s passion for Jewish Education started back when, as a student, she discovered the egalitarian, modern, thoughtful Judaism she expected when attending a Reform synagogue in Lyon. She started tutoring B’nai Mitzvah students there, and one year later she began teaching classes in religious schools in Paris.
Ronit used her professional experiences (consultant on OECD’s Brain and Learning Project, program coordinator for a Brain Training Start Up) in her classroom, and finally, a few years later, Jewish education became her main professional activity.
Ronit received her B.A. in Cognitive Science from Université Lyon II, M.A. in Educational Psychology from Université Paris X, and, in November 2016, earned her M.A. in Jewish Education with Distinction from Leo Baeck College in London, England. In July 2017, Ronit and her husband, Antoine, moved from their native France to Toronto with their three sons, Elior, Ezra and Levi.
Ronit is honoured to be a member of the Temple Har Zion family and delighted to discover the vibrant Toronto Jewish life.
